Social Employment Fund







A series of short "stories" films profiling Social Employment Fund’s strategic implementation partners and participants.  Which covers the topics on the challenges faced by the citizens and community regarding unemployment. The short films balance the sombre reality of unemployment with the uplifting spirit of community resilience and hope.

The SEF's partners with 35 Strategic Implementing Partners and over 1,100 community-based organizations have created over 100,000 employment opportunities across South Africa.

The SEF was recently honored with the prestigious Global Prosperity Catalyst Award, chosen from over 100 global submissions. The award is a testament to unleashing the power of citizens working towards the ‘common good’ and building resilient communities working together.

Our Short Documentary Xitsonga Folktales - The Freddy Rikhotso Story 


Xitsonga Folktales - The Story of Freddy Rikhotso is a short documentary film that delves into the life and work of Freddy Rikhotso, a Xitsonga folklore writer and author dedicated to preserving Xitsonga language, customs, and history.


Each frame of the Short Documentary was deliberately inspected, chosen, curated, analysed, watched and rewatched, and ascended through multiple levels of approval.
