Social Employment Fund







A series of short "stories" films profiling Social Employment Fund’s strategic implementation partners and participants.  Which covers the topics on the challenges faced by the citizens and community regarding unemployment. The short films balance the sombre reality of unemployment with the uplifting spirit of community resilience and hope.

The SEF's partners with 35 Strategic Implementing Partners and over 1,100 community-based organizations have created over 100,000 employment opportunities across South Africa.

The SEF was recently honored with the prestigious Global Prosperity Catalyst Award, chosen from over 100 global submissions. The award is a testament to unleashing the power of citizens working towards the ‘common good’ and building resilient communities working together.

Xitsonga Folktales - The Freddy Rikhotso Story - Short Documentary




Our Short Documentary Xitsonga Folktales - The Freddy Rikhotso Story 


Xitsonga Folktales - The Story of Freddy Rikhotso is a short documentary film that delves into the life and work of Freddy Rikhotso, a Xitsonga folklore writer and author dedicated to preserving Xitsonga language, customs, and history.


Each frame of the Short Documentary was deliberately inspected, chosen, curated, analysed, watched and rewatched, and ascended through multiple levels of approval.  








We Forever incredibly thankful to the crew and everyone involved in bringing this story to life.

*The Name has been adapted from Garingani Wa Garingani for the international market and audience.


Which has screened at Ariff - Africa Rising international Film Festival - Johannesburg South Africa 2023, Mashiriki African Film Festival 2024 in Rwanda - Kigali, Special Screening at Mapungubwe Film and Video Festival 2024: Polokwane - Limpopo, South Africa.

Phillys Games Off Season Tournament

One of longest running off-season community tournament in the country. The Philly's Games were established in 1992 by Philly Mathebula and has always brought the Ekurhuleni township to a standstill in the festive season. The tournament is known as a place for finding talented youngsters as scouts and club owners flock to the games hoping they will find the next superstar. 


We had the opportunity of creating social and real time content of the Philly's Games.

The inaugural DStv Ekasi Champ of Champs Tournament pits Gauteng’s finest kasi teams against each other from 16 June till 10 July 2022, in Soweto. 
An exciting tournaments; we have worked on. Going back to the communities. Seeing the excitement of Kasi Football. 
Kasi Flava is the start of South African football. Kasi Flava is South Africa’s totally unique style of football that involves using extreme showboating to humiliate your opponent and entertain the crowd.

Something we have been working on. Carol’s Odyssey; a Sport Docuseries that chronicles the journey's of African legendary sport stars from their humble beginnings to stardom; Hosted by Carol Tshabalala on Supersport and also on Showmax Pro. (A Finesse Productions x

The first Episode guest on Carol’s Odyssey Season 1 is the legendary Josia Thungwane. 

Josiah Thungwane is a South African former long-distance runner. He gained international recognition for winning the New York City Marathon in 1992, becoming the first black South African to win a major marathon. Thungwane's victory was a significant achievement during a time of social and political change in South Africa.
